A brief devotional about needing to be born in the Spirit and acting in the Spirit and showing the fruits of the Spirit. He encouraged all to ask for the wisdom and courage to act out of love and to be love. He challenged all with a question to apply to our daily actions, “How can we be love to someone else?” He also referenced, Philippians 2:13, to do everything with and in joy. He encouraged us to take our time and be happy in all that we experience stating, “It’s not what or who we have around us, but what is in us that affects our joy.”Motion to adopt the agenda, with the President allowed to adjust the agenda at his discretion was made.

An updated report on the preparation of the constitution and bylaws was provided by Chaplain Dawn Hyatt because Chaplain Howard Kisor could not attend the meeting. Chaplain Kisor advised that the rough draft has been sent to the legal department of the Arkansas Baptist State Convention. After they look it over, it will be emailed to all CCOA members for consideration and then presented for adoption by the group at a future meeting.
Chaplain Greg Hyatt reported on the website progress. He advised that we would be unable to have email for each Chaplain on the website due to the cost of $150.00 per year for a limited amount of persons. He suggested all chaplains set up a Gmail email account that would be designated for use only with the website.
Chaplain Dinorah Rangel advised that the next and last rummage sale for the year would be held August 13th through the 15th during the Bargains Galore on Hwy 64 event. It was agreed to use Jim Lavendier’s residence on Highway 64 east of downtown London for our event location. She advised that setup would begin Wednesday evening and for all volunteers to meet at the storage building on South Arkansas and 3rd street in Russellville around 6:30 p.m. Chaplain Danny Northcut made the motion that Chaplain Rangel was to be in charge of the event, , seconded by Chaplain Paul Northcut. The call for the question was made; all voted aye, motion was carried.
Chaplain Paul Northcut provided the information by way of flyer and registration packet to all attending chaplains for the next Chaplaincy training class to be held on six consecutive Saturdays starting October 2nd, going through November 6th, 2015. He asked all to provide the packets to their churches to make copies and distribute to any interested persons. He also advise of an opportunity that may be in the works with the Red Cross and to look for future updates. Finally, he reminded us of the last dates of Disaster Relief training scheduled by the Arkansas Baptist State Convention that is free to all participants.
